History

The No Nothing Cinema was born on July 4th 1982, the venue was created by a local group called the “emergency filmmakers” to showcase experimental cinema. In 1997 they were forced to relocate into San Francisco’s SOMA district and with a new building came a new name the New Nothing Cinema.

The space continues on with the original idea — shows consisting of personal film/video work that are FREE and OPEN to the public. No money has exchanged hands here.
